Glittery lattes are the latest coffee trend and this seriously needs to stop

There seems to be no end to the things people want to do with their coffee. If we’re not pumpkin-spicing our lattes, we’re making our frothy coffees unicorn or horror themed.

But, now people are adding edible glitter into their coffee because … ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

A coffee shop in the West Midlands, UK, has been making gold glitter-topped lattes and glittery turmeric lattes, and they will go on sale officially this week.

Thankfully, the glitter adorning the drinks is edible. And, trying this one at home with normal glitter is definitely not a good idea.

Debs and Andrew Pease who run the coffee shop in Melbourne, Lichfield, are the sparkle-loving creators of the golden glitter lattes. They say they’re forever experimenting with coffee and cakes. They say the glitter lattes were just an experiment to have a little fun.

“We are quirky, and unashamedly true to us. We love a laugh and making people happy,” the couple told Mashable

“Whilst I take coffee seriously, I love fun as well and believe we all need to have more fun in life and enjoy what we do,” they continued.

But, Melbourne isn’t the first coffee shop to create a glittery coffee drink. A coffee shop in India is selling glitter cappuccinos, which a truly a feast for the eyes.

Aside from the fact these sparkly creations are highly Instagrammable, it might be high time we left coffee the hell alone.
